Tea Meditation + Tasting
If you’ve ever felt soothed by the warmth of a cup of tea, you have felt the power of what tea can do for your wellbeing and creative spirit. Experience the benefits of sensory rich, hands on, interactive tea exploration with our corporate Tea Meditation + Tasting Experiences!
Unfold has partnered with Suzette Hammond, the award-winning founder of Being Tea and internationally recognized tea educator. We have four different tea explorations + meditation workshops to choose from, outlined below.
Class + Workshop Offerings:
Tea Tasting Experience
Enjoy a guided, interactive and relaxing tea session, featuring a set of beautifully prepared teas. Topics may include category focused flights (oolong teas, green teas, white teas, etc), country of origin focused highlights, or technique in a specific preparation method or traditional style.
Ways of Matcha: Comparative Tasting
This emerald green Japanese tea has truly won hearts on menus and blogs across the country. In this tasty session, experience different types of matcha (ceremonial, culinary and daily enjoyment grades), how to distinguish poor quality/freshness from excellence, and techniques for properly whisking your own tea. Come get blissed out and creatively energized with matcha!
The Science of Relaxation + Tea Meditation
Curious about mindfulness, but struggling to find a practice that resonates with you? Tea might be the answer. Tea calms the choppy mind, grounds the body and connects us to our senses. In this workshop, we explore the science of how mindfulness reduces stress response and how using tea in our meditation work can help us reconnect and relax in a very unique way. Includes guided meditation exercises with tea drinking, with the goal of creating a very adaptable, easy to follow daily practice. A highly informative and practical intro meditation course.
The Art of Stillness + Tea Meditation
The practice of tea gives us the ability to dwell in “calm alertness,” a state of being where we are poised yet very calm. It does this on both a physical level – that which we can understand through science – as well as through a philosophical and emotionally centered level. This next step workshop is about understanding the value of stillness that tea offers in a quiet, intuitive way. Includes guided meditation exercises with tea drinking, with an emphasis on traditional brewing practices that encourage intentional pause and stillness.
